Alexander K. Miller, 26, son of Louis Miller, editor of the former Jewish newspaper, the “Warheit,” committed suicide yesterday afternoon at his home, 548 Riverside Drive, by shooting himself through the temple. He died a few minutes after he had been found unconscious in the hallway of the apartment by a friend.
He left a note, which read: “I’m no use to the world and the world is no use to me.” His chief interest was the theatre and had worked at playwriting as well as at play production.
Miller left Cornell University in his senior year to enter the Signal Corps of the army. Since his return from France, he had devoted himself mainly to the theatre.
Louis Miller, father of the dead man, is well known as a journalist here. Born in Russia, he came to this country as a boy, studied law and after practising for a time, associated himself with the “Forward.” Subsequently he established the “Warheit.”
