Thomas Harlan, son of the leading Nazi actor Veit Harlan who directed the notorious anti-Jewish film “Jud Suess, ” today gave a public reading of his new drams, “I, Myself, and no Angel, ” a dramatic chronicle of the Warsaw ghetto.
Mr. Harlan who has publicly stated he wants to expiate his father’s sins toward the Jewish people through his own work, previously made a film about Israel. Written in a style reminiscent of the late German playwright Bert Brecht, the Harlan drama has been greeted as a companion piece to the “Diary of Anne Frank” among attempts to show the German people the crimes committed against the Jews.
