“Son of Sam” got back his Bar Mitzvah photos. David Berkowitz, a serial killer who terrorized New Yorkers in 1976 and 1977, had given his personal effects to his former lawyer, Hugo Harmatz, for safekeeping. Berkowitz sued Harmatz in 2005 when he found out he was going to use the materials, including Berkowitz’s Bar Mitzvah photos, in a book.
