A Sophie Tucker Hospital will be built in the Beit Shemesh village near Jerusalem, according to an announcement today by the Beit Shemesh council and the American entertainer at dedication ceremonies for the Sophie Tucker Forest in the Judean Hill township.
The forest is the first of two being planted by the Jewish National Fund in honor of the entertainer who raised funds for both forests. Abraham Harzfeld paid tribute to her contributions on behalf of the JNF board.
