The Congress of the South African Jewish Board of Deputies was opened here today. The delegates were welcomed by the Mayor of Johannesburg, Mr. Palmer. Dr. Leo Bramson, representative of the Ort, will address the Congress during its session.
Among the items on the agenda are resolutions urging the Board to obtain from the Government census, returns of the Jews resident in South Africa, and the establishment of a Jewish statistical Bureau to keep statisties of the Jewish population of South Africa.
