Zionist parties in South Africa have reached an agreement not to hold elections to the forthcoming World Zionist Congress, it was announced today. Instead, delegates to the Congress were appointed on the following basis: General Zionists, three seats; Zionist Socialists, three; Revisionists, three; Mizrachi, one.
The Anti-Party League, provisionally formed to enter the lists in the event of an election of delegates to the World Zionist Congress, was established as a permanent body here today at a meeting attended by a number of local prominent Zionists. Bernard Cering, former president of the South African Zionist Federation, who recently resigned in protest against the Zionist party system here, told the meeting that although elections were not being held there is a definite need for the League to organize South African Zionism along non-party lines.
