The Keren Hayesod campaign which was opened in Johannesburg, on May 18th, is meeting with success.
Two mass meetings were held in the largest Johannesburg theatres. Justice Greenberg presided and speeches were delivered by Nahum Sokolow and Dr. M. Hindes. A number of prominent persons declared at the meetings that they were officially joining the Zionist movement. Among these is Justice Greenberg, the Acting President of the Jewish Board of Deputies Mr. Raphael, and Sir George Albu, leading gold mine owner.
A banquet was given at which over £15,000 were raised.
The total raised in the general campaign up to the present is over £40,000. The campaign has set itself the task of raising a sum of £100,000.
Eighty-six Jewish students were among the 374 members of the graduating class who received degrees of the Fordham University School of Law yesterday.
