South American republics, including Argentine, Brazil, Uruguay and Chile, have room for new immigrants according to a report submitted by Mr. Starkmath, the Ica director in the Argentine to the Executive of the Hicem, the new body formed by the Hias, Ica and Emigdirekt to deal with the problem of Jewish emigrants.
The Ica director stated that while there is room for new immigration in the South American countries a selection was to be made of the skilled artisans and agriculturists. There are no opportunities for others, he declared.
The Executive decided to open a special information bureau to prospective emigrants.
