Prospects of a joint board of directors to coordinate the system of Jewish education in the schools of the orthodox congregations of the South were evolved in the discussions at the convention of Orthodox rabbis and laymen of the South meeting here. The problem of getting suitable Hebrew school teachers from qualified teachers’ seminaries and agencies for distribution in Southern communities was studied.
Resolutions adopted dealt in substance with the affiliation of the Southern congregations with national organizations of Orthodox rabbis and congregations, adolescent education, the establishment of an advisory board to handle communications between Southern congregations and the establishment of a board of rabbis to visit suburban communities.
