Soviet authorities were reported here today to have forbidden visits to the Soviet Union by delegations from the World Jewish Congress, Agudas Israel World Organization, Mizrachi World Organization and an American rabbinical group. The invitations to these four groups were extended by Moscow Chief Rabbi Solomon Schleifer, the report said.
The report denied that the Soviet authorities have taken a ”liberalized” attitude toward the Jewish religion. It established that the much-spoken of yeshiva which was allegedly opened in Russia recently is nothing but a religious school for 17 Jews.
