The Soviet Consulate has not yet received instructions regarding issuance of transit visas to Jewish refugees in accordance with the agreement concluded recently between Lithuania and Russia, it was learned today.
It was announced that only persons to whom Lithuania has issued safe conduct documents may apply for Soviet transit visas. No visas will be granted on the strength of Polish passports alone.
