The Soviet Court in Novozybkov, in the Ukraine, has sentenced three members of the local artisans’ group to two, four and five years imprisonment respectively for anti-Semitic activities.

Two of the members of the group were accused of having driven a Jewish member of the group named Kabalkin to suicide by their anti-Semitic attacks.

Kabalkin, it was stated at the trial, had been carrying on an energetic fight against the thefts and disorderly behavior among the members of the group. This was chiefly the reason why he was persecuted. In a note left by Kabalkin, he stated: “I wish I could have remained alive, but the anti-Semites of our artisan group have poisoned my existence.”
