The new trade counsellor at the Soviet Embassy here denied today a report in Yetti Achromat, a Hebrew tabloid, that he had assured Israelis of Soviet interest in capital investments in Israel and in a broadening of trade relations.
Mr. Beltchenko said that he had met with some Israeli merchants and industrialists at a reception only on a “courtesy” basis and that he did not make any statements such as had been attributed to him by the Tel Aviv evening newspaper.
