Following intervention by the Religious Commission of the Central Executive Committee, the Moscow Soviets finally permitted the Kehillah to open a bakery for Matzoth. The community immediately engaged thirty bakers to cope with the baking, in view of the short time to Passover, and the fact that it will be the only Matzoth bakery for the whole of Moscow.
It is hoped to satisfy all the requirements for Matzoth in Moscow, particularly as the majority buy only small quantities in view of the high cost and many will satisfy themselves with the home baked Matzoth.
In the provinces, where the technical difficulties connected with the installment of bakeries are insuperable at such short notice, Matzoth will be baked in small oil-stoves, each family providing for itself.
