Soviet Ambassador Michael Bodrov today called on Israel’s Foreign Minister Golda Meir at his own initiative. Foreign Ministry sources said the meeting dealt with routine matters but it was believed that the Soviet envoy used the occasion to seek information about Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion’s trip to the United States and Britain,
The evening press claimed that the Soviet Ambassador conferred on the implications of Mr. Ben-Gurion’s visits to Washington and London. Authoritative Israeli sources declared that the purpose of today’s meeting was to ask the Israel Government to support a proposal that the next world exposition–to take place after the forthcoming world exposition in the United States–should be arranged in Moscow.
