The Soviet publishing house “Academia” has decided to include in its classic series a number of books of Jewish literature of the Middle Ages.
The volumes chosen will include Hebrew poetry by Jehuda Halevi, Ibn Gabirol and philosophic and biblical works.
This task will be entrusted to the editorship of Abraham Efros who translated the Song of Songs into Russian.
The “Academia” will publish as well the works of Josephus Flavius, a history of the persecutions of the Jews by the Crusaders, and the pogroms of Bogdan Chmelnizki, Cossack leader.
