The Central Soviet government today ordered from ten to twelve million pud of foodstuffs to be sent to Crimea to relieve the dire situation in the Jewish and non-Jewish colonies there until the next harvest. The order says that Crimea must get 150,000 pud of forage also within the next three days from the government reserve. The food will be furnished to all field workers.
These urgent measures have been taken to insure good Spring sowing and to eliminate the difficulties created by the enforced collectivization. The same order instructs the Soviet officials to discontinue the merging of Jewish and non-Jewish colonies in Crimea.
