Soviet Russia is ready to admit German-Jewish refugees who are professionals and technicians, high Soviet officials have assured Abraham Herman and John L. Bernstein, president and former president, respectively, of the Hebrew Sheltering and Immigrant Aid Society, who have just returned from abroad where they visited France, Palestine and the Soviet Union in a survey of foreign activities of the Hias.

The leaders of the Hias also declared yesterday that Russia is willing to admit Jewish immigrants from all other parts of the world, provided they will settle in Biro-Bidjan, the far-eastern territory which was recently proclaimed an autonomous Jewish member of the Soviet republic. All that the Russians require is that these immigrants be sympathetic to the Soviet regime; it is not essential that they be Communists, the Hias officials declare.
