The Soviet government has decided to resume the trial of nine Jews which was recessed last week, and will proceed with two others in Kishinev and Riga it was learned here today from reliable sources. The Leningrad trial, which was suddenly halted ten minutes after it opened last week due, according to reports, to the Illness of one of the defendants, will be held this month in the Leningrad Court, Fontanka No. 16. Informed sources have also identified the prosecutor as Karachkov and the Judge as Isakova. The first names of the prosecutor and Judge were not immediately available, The nine Jews, charged with having known about the alleged June 15th hijack plot and not reporting it to Soviet officials, have been identified as: Mikhail Korenblit, Lev Korenblit, Viktor Boguslavsky, Lev Yagman, Victor Shtilbans, Lasal Kaminsky, Hillel Butman. Solomon Dreizner and Vladimir Mogilever. The relatives of these men have reportedly not seen them since they were arrested six months ago, Incarcerated in the Kishinev jail and scheduled to be tried within the first ten days of February are: Anatoly Goldfeld, David Chernoglaz and Hillel Shur. The third trial is scheduled to be held late January in Riga. The names of the defendants are not known. Informed sources also reported today that a gang of hooligans broke the windows of the Malachovka Synagogue in Moscow on New Year’s Day and desecrated the Sanctuary.
