Mordechai Dubin, leader of Jewish community in Riga and former member of the Latvian Parliament has been arrested by the Soviet authorities in Riga, it was reliably learned here today.
Dubin is one of the most important figures in Jewish life in Latvia. He is a member of the world executive of the Agudath Israel and was the head of the Riga Jewish Relief Committee prior to the Sovietization of Latvia. He visited the United States several years ago in the interests of Jewish relief work in Latvia.
