The Stern in a three column editiorial, agrees that the elimination of Hebraism from Yiddish is necessary since the latter are associated with religion and with nationalism, the point is made that it is also essential to combat a belief that Yiddish and Yiddish culture is dying. The paper urged the elimination of Hebraisms wherever possible and agreed that an acclimatized Yiddish is indispensable, but warned that wholesale Russification of Yiddish would make the language a jargon.
