President Zamora, of the Spanish Republic, represented by the Minister of Education Dualde, today officially opened the celebration of the 800th birthday of the Jewish philosopher, Moses Maimonides, who was born in Cordoba, in March, 1135, and whose Octocentenary will be celebrated this week throughout the world.
In opening the celebration in Madrid, Minister Dualde, declaring he was “here to represent the President,” announced that the government will help establish a Maimonides institute in Madrid and will subsidize it.
