Persons of the Jewish race and faith are free to enter Spain. notwithstanding the fact that the fifteenth century Ferdinand and Isabella decree exiling the Jews from Spain has never been legally withdrawn.
A statement to this effect was received from the Spanish government by Dr. Saul Mezan, president of the Jewish League of Nations Society in Bulgaria. Dr. Mezan recently declared that the delegation of his society will not be able to attend the international meeting of League of Nations Societies which is scheduled to be held in Madrid this summer, since, officially, Jews are still banned. It was in response to this statement that the Spanish government made the declaration.
