Chairman Emanuel Celler of the House Judiciary Committee today asked the Spanish Ambassador here for an explanation to the exclusion of Israel by Spain from the forthcoming Mediterranean Olympic Games. In a communication to the Ambassador, Rep. Celler called his attention to a report that the next session of the International Olympics Committee in Paris to be held in June, will consider Israel’s appeal against its exclusion.

By excluding Israel, Rep. Celler said, the Spanish committee organizing the games to be held in Barcelona had “violated the regulations of the Olympic Games” He said ” these regulations bar any discrimination on grounds of race, religion, color or politics.”
