More than 25 acres of sand dunes, prepared for vegetable growing by a special irrigation process, have been turned over to a religious settlement in the northern Sinai peninsula by the Jewish National Fund. The JNF said the process involves use of plastic hoses with perforations through which water drips continuously on the vegetable seedlings. The B’nai Akiva settlement is east of El Arish. The JNF said it was preparing additional land for such cultivation.
