Special memorial prayers for the two Jews hanged in Cairo were offered in synagogues throughout Holland. The Acting Chief Rabbi of the Netherlands sent a telegram to Dutch Prime Minister Willem Drees, expressing sorrow and bitterness on behalf of the Jewish community. He asked that the protest be conveyed to the Egyptian Government.
