Preparations were underway today for the speedy trial of Kozo Okamoto, the Japanese gunman captured in the Lydda Airport massacre May 30. Although no official announcement has been made, Okamoto apparently will be tried by a military tribunal. Authorities are looking for a courtroom or hall large enough to accommodate the large number of Israeli and international journalists expected to cover the trial. The site of the trial is expected to be in Lydda township or Rehovoth.
