Spurred by the plea of Rabbi Samuel Benjamin to “provide adequate facilities for our Jewish children to learn Hebrew and engage in social activities,” members of the Congregation of the Hope of Israel, 876 Gerard avenue, the Bronx, pledged $5,000 toward a fund to build a Jewish Community Center.
The appeal was made on Saturday, April 7, when it was announced that a dance will be held at the Concourse Plaza Hotel April 14. Receipts will be added to the building fund.
