The 25,338 gross ton Israeli luxury liner Shalom will arrive in New York on her maiden voyage tomorrow morning. The $20, 000, 000 flagship of Israel’s merchant marine is scheduled to dock at 1: 00 p.m. at Pier 32.
The Shalom is bringing in 650 passengers from Haifa, Naples, Marseilles and Malaga, a number which is deliberately short of her full passenger capacity in order to allow the 640 crew members to acclimatize themselves to the new liner without undue pressure. When the ship sails from New York on May 8 on the return leg of her maiden voyage, she will carry a capacity passenger list.
