Dr. David Reiss, for eight years superintendent of the Associated Hebrew Schools of St. Louis, resigned from his post at the last meeting of the board of directors. Judge Max G. Baron, president, announced that the resignation had been regretfully accepted. Resolutions praising the work of Dr. Reiss were adopted by the association and concurred in by leading St. Louis rabbis and educators.

One of the outstanding achievements of Dr. Reiss in the eight years he was in charge of St. Louis Hebrew education was the introduction of Hebrew as an accredited subject in the St. Louis high schools. Dr. Reiss was chosen by the superintendent of schools to be the first teacher of Hebrew in the high schools.
