A resident lectureship on Judaism will be established at St. Louis University, a Catholic institution, according to an announcement by the National Federation of Temple Brotherhoods. The first holder of the lectureship, the announcement stated, will be Rabbi Martin E. Katzenstein, of Temple Israel.
The lectureship will be sponsored by the Jewish Chautauqua Society, educational project of the Federation, and will be initiated in honor of Harold W. Dubinsky, honorary president of the Federation. Seymour M. Liebowitz, president of the Federation, said the move will mark “an historic precedent in interfaith relations.”
