Most of the 5,000 Jews who lived in Milan before Italy’s entry into the war are expected to return to the city, it was reported today in a cable received by the Joint Distribution Committee from its representative, Reuben Resnik, who is now in Milan.
About 1,500 Jews are already registered with the J.D.C. office in Milan, the (##)ble said. The office is situated in a former Fascist headquarters which is also used as a synagogue and a hostel and feeding center accommodating 600 persons.
