Entrance visas for a second transport of 360 refugee rabbis who have been stranded in Shanghai since 1941 were issued this week by the State Department, according to an announcement today by the Vaad Hatzala, Orthodox relief organization.
The 360 rabbis are scheduled to sail for the United States on August 31. Transportation costs are being met by the Joint Distribution Committee, National Refugee Service, Intergovernmental Committee on Refugees and Vaad Hatzala.
