A State Department spokesman today informed the Jewish Telegraphic Agency that the Department’s efforts to obtain official information from Rumania on the arrest of Marcel Pohne, J.T.A. correspondent in Bucharest, have thus far brought no results. The American Legation in Bucharest has been instructed to inquire as to the nature of the charges under which Mr. Pohne was detained.
