State Department experts on reparation problems were studying today the note submitted by the Israel Government claiming $1,500,000,000 reparations from Germany and asking that this claim be placed on the agenda of the forthcoming conference of Foreign Ministers which is now being discussed in Paris.
Doubt was expressed in State Department circles as to whether the U.S. Government would make any comment at this time on the Israeli note. It is believed that the State Department may consult Britain and France for joint action on the issue.
(A report from Bonn said that the West German Government will study the Israeli demand as soon as it is forwarded through the Allied High Commission. Official circles indicated that the West German Government would suggest an international conference on regulations of foreign restitution demands.)
