The State Department today continued its policy of refusing to comment officially on the findings of the United Nations Mixed Armistice Commission regarding the Gaza incident.
The Department explained that the case was now before the United Nations Security Council. Meanwhile, the Department is observing regional tension and awaiting reports on the reported new pact agreed to by Egypt, Syria, and Saudi Arabia.
Israel’s frontier problems were called to the attention of Congress today by Rep. Abraham J. Multer (D. N. Y.,) who inserted in the “Congressional Record” an article entitled “Israel’s Border and Security Problems” writen by Maj. Gen, Moshe Dayan. The article appeared originally in the January, 1955 issue of “Foreign Affairs.”
