State Department spokesman Robert McCloskey said today that the Department would have no comment on a forthcoming book that alleges that the U.S. Government was derelict in its efforts to save Jews during World War II.
The book, “While Six Million Died.” by Arthur D. Morse, a former CBS news executive, accuses the Roosevelt administration and the State Department of having “obstructed, thwarted and delayed” measures to rescue European Jews long after recognition by the highest authorities that the Germans intended to massacre the Jews of Europe.
