Secretary of State George C. Marshall has informed Senator Arthur H. Vandenberg, chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee, that the State Department plans to lay before Congress this year legislation for the entry of displaced persons into the United States.
In a letter to Senator Vandenberg, Secretary Marshall also listed Department plans for legislation enabling the United States to participate in the International Refugee Organization, to continue an international relief program after the expiration of UNRRA, and to provide a share in the International Children’s Fund.
