A state funeral was held here today for Aliza Shagrir who was killed last Friday in Paris when a bomb exploded in front of a synagogue. Three other persons were killed and 32 persons were injured.
Mrs. Shagrir, 42, who was in Paris for a two-week vacation, was walking past the synagogue to the home of a friend to meet her husband when the bomb exploded. Mrs. Shagrir was a film editor who worked for Israel TV and for French Ambassador Marc Bonnefous. The funeral was attended by Cabinet ministers, members of Knesset and friends. Six policemen carried the coffin and a military cantor sang psalms: There were no eulogies.
In a related tragedy, Dr. Baruch Shagrir, Mrs. Shagrir’s father-in-law, died here yesterday of a heart attack after learning that his daughter-in-law had been killed. He was 85 years old.
