A “Stephen S. Wise Road” will be dedicated in Jerusalem next month in honor of the memory of the late Rabbi Stephen Wise, one of American Jewry’s outstanding leaders, it was announced here today by the Israel Bond Organization. The foremost Jewish civic, communal and religious leaders in the United States have joined the committee for the Stephen S. Wise Memorial.
The street to be named in honor of Rabbi Wise, is located on the campus of the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. Principal participants in the dedication ceremonies will be Israel Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion; Walworth Barbour, United States Ambassador to Israel; Mayor Mordechai Ish-Shalom of the City of Jerusalem, and Dr. Nelson Glueck, President of the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion.
