Adlai E. Stevenson, United States Ambassador to the United Nations, and the Daroff brothers of Philadelphia–Joseph A Samuel, H. and Michael–prominent businessmen and philanthropists, have been named to receive the 1964 Stephen S. Wise Awards of the American Jewish Congress.
The bronze medallions, which will be presented at a dinner on Oct, 25, cite Mr.Stevenson for his contribution in “advancing human freedom. ” The Daroff brothers will be honored for “strengthening Jewish life,” The awards are named for the late Rabbi Stephen S. Wise, founder and longtime president of the American Jewish Congress.
