Stipe Mesic plans to be the first Croatian president to visit Israel, embarking on a mission next week to smooth relations troubled by Croatia’s Nazi past. Mesic will hold talks with Israeli President Moshe Katzav, Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and Foreign Minister Shimon Peres, and will address the Knesset, his office said.
