Mayor Impellitteri today signed a bill authorising the naming of a street in New York for Henrietta Szold, founder of the Hadassah movement. The mayor’s action followed a decision by the City Council to change the name of Dry Dock Street, in the lower East Side of the city, to Szold Place. The renaming ceremony will take place on March 22, the Purim holiday.
