A Sao Paulo street was today named for Theodor Herzl in ceremonies attended by the city’s Mayor, Dr. Francisco Prestes Maia, the Israel Ambassador and Consul General, prominent personalities in civic life and leaders of the Jewish community here.
The municipal legislation calling for the naming of a street after the founder of political Zionism had been adopted at the initiative of the Mayor as a gesture of good will toward the city’s Jewish community.
