“We have a splendid future before us — A Germany without Jews,” Julius Streicher, Germany’s No. I anti-Semite, declared today in hailing the Austro-German Anschluss.
“World Jewry has again lost a battle,” the overlord of Franconia proclaimed in his Nuremberg anti-Semitic weekly, Der Stuermer, in an editorial under the front-page streamer headline, “Jewish Domination Broken.”
“Jews still live among the Germans of the Reich and Austria, but their domination is broken,” he added. The current issue of Der Stuermer, which is devoted to the Anschluss, also gives some space to what it calls “the Fuehrers” (leaders) of the American Jews, and an attack on the Jews of the United States as anti-Christian.
The paper reproduces a picture of Sol M. Stroock, New York lawyer; Dr. Cyrus Adler, of Philadelphia, and Irving Lehman, Judge of the New York State Court of Appeals, under the heading “The Jewish Committee in America” and the caption: “Among the prominent Jews who were present at the convention of the American Jewish Committee in the Hotel Astor were Sol Stroock, Cyrus Adler and Judge Irving Lehman. These are the fuehrers of the American Jews.”
Der Stuermer also quotes The Sentinel, Chicago Jewish weekly published in English, in its issue of Dec. 23, 1937, under the heading, “Jews against Christ.” A picture is printed of Trude Weiss Rosmarin, of New York, with the caption: “The leader of the School of the Jewish Woman, opponent of the recognition of Christ by the Jews,” adding, “This new Jewish war declaration against Christ is meant as a Christmas gift for the numerous American Christians who do not tire of praising and extolling Jewry.”
