Strict Security Measures at West German Airports Following Terrorist Threats

West German airports were alerted today after Palestinian terrorists threatened to attack German aircraft because of West Germany’s alleged close ties with Israel. Mail and cargo shipments were embargoed at West Berlin, Frankfurt, Hamburg and Munich airports. Strict security checks were instituted at other airports for passengers, mail and freight.
