A proposal that defendants in West German courts, who openly admit in court to being neo-Nazis when being sentenced for crimes of arson or threats against persons, would not only be fined or jailed but also lose their civil rights, has been favorably received by Justice Ministers of West Germany’s states.
The reaction was disclosed by the Society for Christian-Jewish Collaboration in Berlin, which made the proposal. The Justice Ministers have informed the Society that they would forward the proposal, with their approval, to the prosecutors in the various states. The Berlin Justice Senator wrote to the Society that “I instructed the prosecuting authorities in my district some time ago to pay special attention to anti-Semitic and neo-Nazi activities.”
