The strike of teachers in the Jewish schools of Vilna, which has been in progress for over a fortnight, and in consequence of which thousands of Jewish children were left without schooling, was settled to-day, following a grant of 10,000 zlotys given by the Vilna Jewish Community to the Jewish schools organisations, which has enabled them to pay off some of the arrears of salaries owing to the teachers, on account of which the strike was called.
The strike involved the schools of the Yiddish School Organisation, Zischo, the Hebrew School Organisation, Tarbuth, and the Orthodox Schools of the Mizrachi Organisation and of the Orthodox Schools Organisation Yasnen.
