The Soviet Union will do everything necessary to help the Arab nations give Israel a “resolute rebuff,” the central committee of the Soviet Communist Party declared at a two-day meeting on the Middle East crisis, it was reported here today from Moscow.
The committee promised the Soviet Union would continue its effort to force Israel to withdraw from conquered parts of Syria, Jordan and Egypt. The statement reiterated the demand of Premier Kosygin last Monday at the emergency session of the General Assembly that Israel pay indemnity to the Arab countries for war damages.
