Development of an “unparalleled movement for understanding and cooperation” among the various religious groups in the United States was reported today by Dr. Everett R. Clinchy, director of the National Conference of Christians and Jews, at a conference on “The and the World Crisis” held under the auspices of the Jewish Theological Seminary.
Addressing one of 12 roundtable discussions on as many aspects of the main topic, Dr. Clinchy declared the movement was developing along the lines of “unity without uniformity,” with the various groups continuing to worship separately but “inventing ways of working together as citizens who believe in God.”
Declaring the united agencies of religion would unequivocally brand racism as false, Dr. Clinchy predicted the coming years would see execution of “the first major attack on all religious prejudice in the history of western civilization.” The attack, he said, will be carried into “schools, colleges, church and synagogue perished, homes and all important community organizations of the land.”

Stone, Mrs. Moses P. Epstein, Dr. Solomon Lowenstein and Dr. Max Arzt. Representatives of groups from five Eastern states participated in the conference.
